Tripadvisor, the go-to platform for travellers worldwide, recently announced the winners of its 2024 Travelers’ Choice Awards for Best of the Best Restaurants. This prestigious award recognises establishments that consistently earn exceptional reviews and feedback from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period. Among the various categories celebrated, we take a closer look at the winners of this year’s Fine Dining awards.

Restaurant Pic, France — Restaurant Pic’s Dining Room.

Claiming the top spot in Tripadvisor’s Fine Dining category is Restaurant Pic, nestled in the Drôme region of southeast France. Dishes are presented on porcelain under cloches, a nod to the time-honoured traditions of fine dining service. Chef Anne-Sophie Pic, celebrated as the “tightrope walker of flavours,” offers guests a ten-course tasting menu infused with Japanese influences.

Restaurant 1621 takes second place with its refined French cuisine and elegant decor. Located within Hotel Sofitel Santa Clara, the restaurant occupies a breathtaking 17th-century colonial patio. The menu features fresh seafood and seasonal dishes showcasing Colombia’s rich bounty of fruits and vegetables.

In third place, we find Northcote Hotel’s restaurant, led by Executive Chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen. The restaurant prioritises high-quality ingredients, often sourced from local farms and their own garden. Northcote also offers a wide-ranging wine list, and the ‘Chef’s Table’ allows diners to watch the chefs in action through a glass wall.

This year’s awards underscore Europe’s longstanding influence on fine dining, as 11 of the top 25 restaurants originate from the continent. Asia comes in second with six restaurants, representing a diverse range of cuisines, while North America makes a strong showing with three New York City restaurants.
