The full Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025 list will be unveiled at a ceremony in Macau on 15 July.

Ahead of its highly anticipated awards ceremony in Macau this 15 July, Asia’s 50 Best Bars has revealed its extended 51–100 ranking for 2025.

Now in its fifth year, the list is compiled from the votes of the Asia’s 50 Best Bars Academy – a panel of over 300 experts including bartenders, bar owners, drinks writers, and seasoned cocktail aficionados.

This year’s edition features 14 new entries across 23 cities, underscoring the continued growth, diversity, and innovation shaping Asia’s bar culture

Singapore Leads with Six Bars

Singapore retains a strong presence, placing six bars in the 51–100 list. Among them is Side Door, a stylish newcomer landing at No.53. The city’s continued dominance reflects the enduring calibre of its cocktail scene.

Sora at Rosewood, Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Emerging Cities Make Their Mark

Three cities make their debut on the extended list: Shenzhen, Phnom Penh, and Kaohsiung. Taking the top spot on the 51–100 list is Shenzhen’s Obsidian Bar (No.51), a brooding, three-storey space known for vintage whiskies and signature cocktails.

Phnom Penh enters with Sora (No.65), a sleek rooftop lounge perched atop the Rosewood hotel, while Maltail (No.75) represents Kaohsiung with its single malt-led cocktail menu.

Other solo entries include The Han-jia in Tainan (No.59), a whisky-centric bar rising twenty places, and Raa in Hiriketiya (No.84), a Sri Lankan gem with sweeping bay views and an arak-forward approach.

Soko, Seoul, South Korea

Strong Showings Across Asia’s Bar Capitals

Major cities such as Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Taipei each see four bars featured. Bangkok, Hanoi, and Hong Kong claim three spots respectively.

Bangkok’s highlights include Mahaniyom Cocktail Bar (No.71) and Firefly (No.82), with Messenger Service debuting at No.90. Known for its bold concoctions using local ingredients like betel leaf and fermented rice, it’s a striking reflection of Thailand’s creative scene.

Hanoi introduces Workshop14 (No.83), a lakefront bar marrying Vietnamese heritage with contemporary flair. The Hudson Rooms (No.86) and The Haflington (No.87) follow closely behind. In Hong Kong, new entrant The Opposites (No.80) stands out as a walk-in-only ‘mixology playground’ founded by Antonio Lai and Samuel Kwok. Joining them are Mostly Harmless (No.88) and the long-established Quinary (No.91).

Backdoor Bodega, Penang, Malaysia

Diverse Offerings Across the Region

The list also features two bars each from cities including Goa, Ho Chi Minh City, Jakarta, and Osaka.

In Goa, Bar Outrigger (No.55) – a tiki-inspired hideaway led by Arijit Bose – enters the list, while Hideaway returns at No.94. Ho Chi Minh City sees Stir (No.61) and The Enigma Mansion (No.93) representing Vietnam’s dynamic drinks scene.

Jakarta’s new entrant The Golden Tooth (No.98), with its Brooklyn loft-inspired interiors, joins returning favourite Pantja (No.68). Osaka’s Craftroom ranks at No.58, with Bar Nayuta rounding off the list at No.100 – a tiny speakeasy known for tailor-made cocktails based on guest preferences.
