This exclusive dining venue affords an extraordinary culinary experience that promises to captivate the senses. Here’s what you can expect when visiting The Hall.
The atmosphere
The Hall by Louis Vuitton in Chengdu was birthed in 2022 and is housed within the Louis Vuitton Maison, spanning two connected buildings and an open courtyard. Embodying architectural heritage, the 2,000-square-metre restaurant sits in Guangdong Hall at Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li, which previously served as a merchants’ gathering place in the early Canton days, thus reinterpreting these historic traditions of social gathering into a contemporary landmark.
Emanating a serene and peaceful ambiance, The Hall not only features furniture and objects from Louis Vuitton’s Objets Nomades collection, but is also adorned with artwork from notable modern Chinese artists like Lu Xinjian, Nanchuan Daocheng, and Zhou Yilun.
Amongst the other striking ornamentation within the restaurant include a coral leather-embellished chandelier designed by Swiss architecture firm Atelier Oï, and bright red and orange paper sculptures made from Louis Vuitton shopping bags combined with ancient Chinese stone sculptures.
The concept
The Hall is operated by Yunmi Group, a leading food and beverage management company in China focused on high-end dining. The restaurant’s menu is refined and modern, taking inspiration from pan-European flavours with classics from French and Mediterranean cuisine.
Additionally, The Hall also features global Michelin-star chefs from China and abroad through a program from time to time, where they take the lead in the kitchen, bringing their unique creativity to the table. Accompanying these meals is a specially curated wine list featuring French and Old World Italian labels, along with an exceptional selection from Jura, the birthplace of Louis Vuitton himself. As for cocktails, the offerings take inspiration from house icons, culminating in an imaginative menu that takes guests through the Maison’s rich culture.
The chef
Born and raised in Italy, chef Leonardo Zambrino’s passion for cooking began since his childhood and since then, he has attained numerous training from world-renowned chefs, with a culinary footprint spanning across Europe and Asia. Leonardo brings his young creative perspective to The Hall, recounting life experiences through every dish and cleverly merging Sichuan flavours with the essence of French and Italian cuisine, showcasing the diverse possibilities of local ingredients in a way that is refreshing and equally as exciting for diners.
